Therapist — Connection Counseling

Relationship-focused clinical work with individuals and couples in a growing Long Island private practice.

Garden City, NY (Long Island)

About Connection Counseling

Connection Counseling is a relationship-focused therapy practice based in Garden City, New York, serving individuals and couples across Long Island and New York State. The practice was founded by Erica, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), around a simple premise: most of what people struggle with is relational, and therapy works best when it takes relationships seriously.

Clients come to us for couples therapy, marriage counseling, communication difficulties, attachment patterns, infidelity and trust repair, anxiety, women's mental health, and the ordinary-but-heavy transitions of adult life. Emotionally Focused Therapy and attachment-based work are strong influences here, integrated with the individual training each clinician brings.

The Role

We're looking for a thoughtful, clinically serious therapist to join the practice and carry a caseload of individual and/or couples clients. This is clinical work first: sessions, case conceptualization, documentation, and collaboration with the practice on client care.

The specific structure of the role — setting, hours, and terms — is described in the current posting and discussed directly, so that what you read here matches what you'd actually be agreeing to.

Who You'll Work With

Clients who are actively seeking help and generally motivated to do the work: couples trying to break out of a recurring cycle, partners rebuilding after a betrayal, individuals untangling anxious or avoidant patterns, and women navigating identity, career, motherhood, and relationships at once.

What We're Looking For

  • Genuine interest in relational and attachment-oriented clinical work
  • Warmth paired with the willingness to hold a difficult conversation
  • Clear, reliable professional communication
  • Care about clinical quality and ongoing development
  • Comfort with autonomy inside a collaborative practice

Qualifications

License requirements for this position are listed in the active posting and confirmed in conversation. We are not publishing qualification criteria here that haven't been finalized.

Schedule

Scheduling expectations for this role are discussed directly with candidates.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation and any associated benefits are stated in the active posting and reviewed with candidates. We'd rather say nothing here than publish a number we haven't confirmed.

What We Provide

Connection Counseling handles practice infrastructure — inquiries, scheduling systems, website, marketing, and the operational layer — so clinicians can spend more of their attention on clinical work. The practice is also committed to continuing education, thoughtful clinical development, and collaboration between clinicians.
